Skype Bringing iPhone App on Tuesday
Here is a little tidbit of info for your Monday morning: Tomorrow you will be able to download a standalone Skype app through the App Store. This has been rumored to happen for the last week or so through various blogs.
I assume the app itself will be free, as it will be charging you for calls to landline phones. If it is identical to Skype service everywhere else, however, any Skype-to-Skype calls will be free.
Also, other features of the app will include Skype Chat and SkypeIn/SkypeOut. The app will enable conference calling, group chats and access to your contact list. Not sure what else will make the cut for this first version to come out, but keep a close eye on it.
And before I forget — the Skype calling will only be allowed on the WiFi, not through the 3G network.
It should be coming out on Tuesday, presumably for no extra cost.
