Yahoo Messenger Coming to App Store
Yahoo! already has various forms of its Messenger IM service on the iPhone through other IM apps, but it has decided to take matters into its own hands.
Sometime soon the company plans to release an app specifically for Yahoo! Messenger, and last week Yahoo put out a video on its blog showing all the features the app will have.
Some features on the Messenger app will include:
- Integrates with iPhone camera and photo library, letting you add pictures to your conversations
- “No signout” — stays online even when phone goes to sleep or you leave the app, changing your status to idle
- Send SMS from the app to your friends’ phones, cost-free
- Type web addresses into your conversations
