Tweetie 2.0 is Even Sweeter

I am an avid user of Tweetie, and have found it to certainly be worth the $2.99 I had to fork out to begin using it. So as you can imagine I’m excited to hear that a new version is coming out that will add up to several new features that will make it even easier, faster and nicer to use than the current version.
But you don’t need any introduction from me if you’re already familiar with Tweetie. Chances are if this headline caught your eye, you are. If not, allow me to refer you to Tweetie’s home page which goes into more detail about it.
Let’s move on to 2.0.
This is a completely new app to download, and will require another $2.99. But the beauty of it is the fact that I’m willing to fork out the money for it just knowing what’s in store, without even trying it first. Here are some of the hot features that are being integrated into it:
- Offline viewing – not just caching tweets for reading offline, but 2.0 will remember where you were last reading and put you back there when you load the app
- New compose screen – recent hashtags used, attachments manager, @people picker, etc.
- Threaded conversations, much like the Mac version
- Drafts manager – view saved drafts and send multiple drafts out simultaneously (great for offline use)
- Sync Twitter user info – with your iPhone contacts. Yeah, it’s as cool as it sounds. Email addresses, phone numbers, etc.
- Full landscape support (finally!)
- Edit your profile
- Block/follow from multiple accounts at once
- Autocomplete recent searches
And more!
Here’s Tweetie’s site that announces all the changes. Atebits, the developer, mentions that 2.0 is on final beta and should be submitted to the App Store this week.
