App Popular is the latest way to find cool iPhone apps. Obviously with 75,000 of them available for download, it’s impossible to look through them all. How do you know what you’re missing out on?

On their site App Popular lists off a few features the app will offer.

• World Rankings: Curious which games are big in Egypt? Which book is popular in Macau? Or what the go to social networking tool is in Qatar? Perhaps you’re developing a new app and need to do some international market research. Or maybe you just need to keep your eyes on the competition? App Popular offers an elegant Cover Flow-like design that lets you very quickly browse the App Store’s top 100 free and paid applications by any country and category.
• Top Picks by Members: Discover hidden gems and avoid the bad ones by viewing which apps other users of App Popular are passionate about—not just what’s bestselling. App lists are compiled and ranked to create the Best and Worst Member Picks, and the Most Wished For iPhone Apps.
• My App Lists: Promote your favorite apps and help others find the best apps for them by creating and sharing app lists easily using Twitter, Facebook, and Email.
• Stream: View price changes of currently ranked apps, new #1 ranking changes by country and category, and new apps added to the “Top Picks by Members” Best, Worst and Most Wished For Lists.

It is currently in the process of being submitted to the App Store and should be available sometime early October 2009.

Interesting — a game based on Ask a Ninja? I am intrigued!

We have no other details yet, but I’m keeping a close eye on my sources to see if we can get any other info.

We just received an email from Docs to Go letting us know that their signature smartphone software will be available for the iPhone very soon. How soon? Early to mid May.

Docs to Go is famous for enabling users to create, edit and view Office documents on their mobile phones/PDAs; until recently it’s been rare to find a similar program in the App Store, and usually those apps will only allow viewing of documents. It’s great to see programs like this and QuickOffice come out with apps that give iPhone users the chance to create and edit them as well.
